Sam

Sam is currently a full-time lecturer at the University of the Arts London, UK. He has provided numerous lectures, tutorials and general art tutoring at a number of UK universities.

Biography - Sam

Sam is a professional contemporary artist, well versed in sculpture, performance art, photography, and video art.

 

Sam is the first Hong Kong person to have earned the MA Sculpture in the Royal College of Art; and the first Hong Kong person to have earned the MRes Arts and Humanities in the Royal College of Art.

 

Sam is currently a full-time lecturer at the University of the Arts London. He has provided numerous lectures, tutorials and general art tutoring at a number of UK universities.

 

Sam has been actively showing his work in over 40 exhibitions in Europe, America, and Asia since 2015. He has received strong recognition, as well as some media coverage, including TV, radio, and magazine interviews.

Artist Statement - Sam & Boie

What exactly do this postcolonial generation of Hong Kong people talk about when they talk about the social movements they experienced, and the future? This artwork aims to inform and re-imagine how we could think and articulate national and racial identity. This artwork visualizes the portrait of this particular Hong Kong generation. It has become a chronicle, an archive, and long-running ethnography of post-colonial Hong Kong activism.
